Welcome to All Saint's Church, Mattersey 🤗

About Us

All Saints' Church is one of five churches that form The River Idle Benefice of churches. We are part of the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham in the Church of England. We seek to gather as Christ's people, valuing everyone's contribution; growing in our faith, love and service; and going into the world as disciples. We are committed to worship for all ages and play our part in offering a variety of services across The River Idle Benefice as a whole. The link with our local school is very important to us as we work to encourage children to explore and grow in faith.

Our Church building dates back to the late 13th century; you can read about its history and features at this link. If you would like to find out more about anything that you see here please do contact us or come along to one of our services or events; we'd love to get to know you! Even if you are not of a Christian persuasion, you are very welcome to visit the church, which is open everyday to provide a place for spiritual contemplation and comfort to people, of all faiths and none, in the communities of Mattersey and Mattersey Thorpe (and also to any passers by).

Safeguarding

Ensuring that children, young people and vulnerable adults are kept safe whilst in our care is an integral part of our church life.

If you have any safeguarding concerns, please contact:

Please see our Safeguarding page for more details.

Our Facilities

At Mattersey we are particularly fortunate in that we have a Church Hall, linked to the Church building by a walkway and equipped with accessible toilets and a kitchenette, which we open during and immediately after all of our services and which can be booked for private functions. We have 5 bells that are rung regularly and a traditional organ. Service sheets are available in large print, we have a hearing loop installed and we have a ramp available for visitors in wheel chairs.

Eco Church

We are actively involved in the Church of England's A Rocha Eco Church Project and have already achieved a Silver Award. We also support a roost of resident Pippestrel bats and host regular visits by the Nottinghamshire Bat Group.

Please use the navigation menu at the top of the page to explore our site, find out about our regular and special services, discover our events, read our blog, find out where we are, contact us, book our Church Hall or make a donation to keep our our church alive. If you have any safeguarding concerns, please go to our safeguarding page.
